1. What is Canton Fair?
The Canton Fair is a trade fair held in the spring and autumn seasons each year since the spring of 1957 in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong province, China.
The Fair is co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and People's Government of Guangdong Province, and organized by China Foreign Trade Centre.
Its full name since 2007 is the China Import and Export Fair renamed from Chinese Export Commodities Fair. It is the largest trade fair in China . Among China's largest trade fairs, it has the largest assortment of products, the highest attendance, and the largest number of business deals made at the fair. Like many trade fairs it has several traditions and functions as a comprehensive event of international importance.The upcoming Spring session is the 105th Session.
2. What can I buy/sell at Canton Fair?
You can find/sell almost anything, from heavy machinery to needles, at Canton Fair. The products are basically divided in to 9 categories, namely: electronics & Household, Electrical Appliances, hardware & tools, consumer goods, food & agricultural products, machinery, vehicles & spare parts, building materials, lighting equipments, chemical products.
3. I'm an exhibitor, how should I register for a booth at the Canton Fair?
Firstly you should fill in the Participation Application Form online at http://exhibitor.cantonfair.org.cn/en/register/application.asp (applicable only for foreign exhibitors ). A notice of approval containing information of your account name and password would be sent to you via mail after information validation. Please send a sealed print copy of approved application form to the organizer before Feb.15th, 2009. All overseas enterprises can apply for participation via local agents entrusted by China Foreign Trade centre.
4. I'm a buyer, how should I apply for entrance permission?
You need an invitation from Canton Fair organizer, which both serve for visa application purpose and entrance purpose. The invitation comes in two forms, you can either apply an invitation on line, i.e. an E-invitation at http://invitation.cantonfair.org.cn/en/index.aspx or you can also directly contact the organizer to apply for a paper invitation. After you arrive in Guangzhou, you should register at either the fair venue or at one of the 35 hotels the organizer appointed and get a entrance badge, which serves as a multiple admission ticket.
